The "Christ the King" stained glass window in St. Paul's was erected by the Royal Air Force in memory of their comrades of No. 25 SFTS (Service Flying Training School) who died on active service in North Battleford. The unveiling and dedication service was held on October 8, 1944. This window is believed to be one of only two such window in the world. |

The central theme of the window is the Tree of Life (Genesis 2: 9) enclosed within a large circle. The perimeter of this circle displays four colours - gold, green, black and white representing the four directions and their mystical significance: gold (east) for farsightedness, green (south) for innocence and rebirth, black (west) for introspection and north (white) for wisdom. The tree itself bears six apples, six being the number of creation and perfection, and the apples signifying the fruit of salvation. Behind the tree we see the valley and flats surrounding the Battlefords, The roots of the tree are embedded in the land and superimposed on the roots is the cross within a ring marking the 100th anniversary of St. Paul’s. In the upper area of the window is seen the emblem of St. Paul – the words “Spiritus Gladius”. The overall effect of the window is to link our church with the land in a blaze of light and a design which looks to the future while honouring the past. Bishop Rodney at the right. This memorial window was provided for by the estate of Bill and Ruth Huber. | ![]() The Come Unto Me Window In memory of Dr. F.H. Hurlbert |
